You indicated that you transferred it all onto the machine, how did you do that? Why not just reverse the process? Plug in the external hard drive, locate the music on the MacBook Air's internal hard drive then drag and drop to the external HD. Once you've confirmed that the music/media is on the external hard drive you can remove the media from the MacBook Air.

I too had the 64GB model. Went out to OWC and purchased a 240GB SSD and it came with the tools and a nice enclosure to house the original SSD. The new SSD is clocking 30% faster than the original and now I have a portable SSD that is sleek and slender. Just a thought if you can justify it.
