Oh heck yeah. I'd love to get a new MacBook pro retina but right now with one kid in college and one on the way to college things are a bit tight right now so I need to strecth the bennies as far as I can. So I was looking it the iCloud Match FAQs and this was there:
Does iTunes Match stream or download songs?
- On a computer, any songs stored in iCloud will stream over the air when played, though you can download them at any time by clicking the iCloud download button. iOS devices will start playing tracks from iCloud as they download and will store them so that you can listen to them later even if you don’t have a network connection. Apple TV only streams songs.
Looks like I can sign up for iTunes match. Upload all my music including CD's I've ripped, then hit the download button and everything is on my iPhone5 so I can listen to my music three floors under the National Gallery of Art.
Does that sound right?

That worked. So just for future referrence. I singed up for iTunes match. Uploaded all the music and apps to icloud then downloaded everything to my new iPhone5. Mrs. blueser agreed to upgrade the iMac to a macbook pro. Hmmm, now which one. YAY. I'll check out the threads over there. Thanks for the help everyone.
