Go back to the store... and show them the website about the fit and finish and how amazing this iPhone is! Also show them where it states this is the BEST fit and finish of ANY smartphone...
Email Tim Cook!
I suggest you guys start complaining about the level of service you guys are receiving at the store... this is going to tarnish Apple even further than the iPhone 5 is!

Wow, 11 phones, that must be pretty insane, especially since it seems that there are numerous others that have been through similar amouts of phones. If you can, I suggest you maybe take it back and return it for now. The scratches may not be too much and on my phone, I convinced myself that I would overlook them. However after thinking about them more and the fact that if they do fix this, I would end up with a damaged phone while in a few months, others would have be using perfect ones. I decided that I should just try fix the problem now instead of feeling regretful later on.
From what it seems like, AppleCare through the phone are providing better service than in stores.
I bet if a company can make a process of polishing or what not to fix the scuffs on iPhone 5s, they would make a lot of money right now!

Have you thought about just going to the White one? Thats what i did, Due to receive it sometime in a week or so. The black one just got boring for me. White one looks very nice! and you wont have to worry about the paint chipping off...

antonove, you're the first that I heard mentioned this. Agree that there is a perfect opportunity to create DIY scuff repair kits. Sure there will be some hitting the market eventually.
So here's my DIY suggestion for those that have a 99% perfect phone with just a few blemishes. Use a black sharpie pen to dab any silver nicks that are shining through. Works wonders IMHO.

WOW you are out to lunch!
Buy a NEW iPhone 5 and use a marker to cover up the blemishes out of box? Are you kidding me???
What a joke!
I understand after wear and tear, but not new out of box... maybe this should be Apple's new marketing campaign...
"Buy an iPhone 5 and we will throw in a FREE Sharpie marker to cover up all our blemishes out of box! Free for a limited time... until November 30th!"
LMFAO. Best suggestion ever. I laughed. iShame.

Can people that have bought the White iPhone let us know if most of you have received perfect iPhone's or some with scuffs or dents???

I have been through countless black iPhone 5s. I been through a few white iPhone 5s. The white and silver will show less scuffs and marks over black. I have a semi perfect white iPhone 5 finally... I couldn't even find one black one that comes near the white one... hope that helps you!

We purchased 1 White 64gb on launch day. Was in perfect condition. In my observation, the silver nicks appear to be coming from the polished edges, so not noticable even under close view on the white phones. I have seen defects on the white phones that have marks on the sides (near volume bottons). We also have three black 64Gbs and all but one have a few tiny silver specs on the edges. They are extremely small and appear as dust particles. Most people will not notice them, but everyone has different sensitivity so subjective.

Was it with VZW? Mine is being shipped according to them on the 26th but im sure it will ship a lot sooner than that. The first two black ones i had shipped within 3 days of ordering them. The black one i have now is in perfect mint condition, No scuffs or anything, The first one had a paint chip on the bottom left hand corner near attenna. I just got bored with black. Everyone i see now has white one and it looks a lot better to me. So I went ahead and ordered white one today. Lets see if it comes in looking perfect

It totally suck that we have to go through this mess. When I open an Apple product I always expect a perfect fit and finish.
I'm on my third 64GB black and everyone had damage.
I'm thinking about taking this one back for a refund and order the white 64GB.
I'm just worried that I could end up with something even worst. This Blows

a bitten Apple indeed!
What's wrong with your black unit?
Can't you buy a white one and then return the black if the white ends up perfect?

From what i hear you have less possibilities of getting a damaged white iPhone, The black one is the one that got it the worst

Not sure if this is 100% accurate. It is safe to say that the scuffs/defects are easier to see because of the black coating on the black units.

Yes, unfortunately for me the Apple representative I was with told me that I had to stick with the original color. I wasn't able to swap a White for a Black at that time. So for now unless I return the phone, I'm stuck with what I have.
This is the same representative that told me that she suspects they are getting dinged because they are moving around in the box.
I swear, I'm not making this stuff up!
I'll enjoy the phone in the meantime, and see how I feel in a few days. Maybe I'm being too anal \/ Apple has done good to me in the past so that counts.
