You could use them, but you'd need to purchase a USB Bluetooth adapter (which can be a third-party manufacturer's product) and update the OS to at least Panther (OS 10.3.x). I've used an older Apple Wireless Keyboard (model A1016) and Apple Wireless Mouse (model A1015) with a Blue & White G3, which is about a year older than your iMac. I bought an IOGEAR Bluetooth 2.1 USB Adapter for about $15 at a PC store.

Wireless keyboards and mice require somethig called Bluetooth. Bluetooth was not built into your iMac.
However, you can buy a USB Bluetooth adaptor that you can plug into one of your USB ports, and that device will create a link between the wireless keyboard and mouse.
Check out these two from macsales.com:
You'll need Mac OS 10.3.9. Call their Tech Support to confirm that they'll work, and exactly what your system needs are.
