Q: @icloud.com as sent from does not work

You wait until Apple notifies you by email that it is working...

How long did it actually take to receive that notification? Apple's support doc says "weeks" - that seems very much on the safe side ... ;-)

And does anyone know why it takes that long? I mean: you are signed in with your me.com - what are they doing for "weeks"? Watching the mail server?!? :-)))

Well, I haven't actually received that notification yet, but my @icloud.com address has recently started working both for incoming and outgoing mail. The address appeared in my email clients before it actually worked though.

Hm ... thx for the info. I don't have the icloud.com adress in my mail client on the MacBook. But I have it on the iPhone - can use it too, but it produces the postmaster-fail you mentioned above.

How long did it take then to work? A week? I don't want to test each day ...

I tried it when the email address first appeared and it didn't work. I tried it again a couple of weeks later and it worked. That was about a week ago for me.

So it actually takes "weeks" ... :-)))
