Yes, I returned my iPhone 5 and went back to iPhone 4 because my wife is using my 4S.  Sure, smaller screen, no guided direction on maps, no siri and it's slower - but, it lasts 2-3 days on one charge!!!  I never thought I would appreciate iPhone 4 after 4S, but I love it.

I seriously hope Apple can come up with a solution for this problem.

Oh, and to some of you saying we are being over sensitive and telling us to "just enjoy it," - Please just go away, if you haven't experienced the misery that is/was ours with pathetic battery life that wouldn't last one full day on standby.

I just came back from Apple Store.

They have had a lot of complaints, and know about the issue. They insist there is nothing a hardware replacement can do to help, although he still let me do it for ***** and giggles. He said that the software update coming soon (but no idea when) will address the battery issue as do all the .1 or .01 releases.

So, with my new one, i am charging it fully today, and then doing a restore from my previous icloud iPhone 4 backup.

Fingers crossed that i can get more than 4.5 hours usage!

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully the update won't take too long

    @Mainmn

If you are losing battery life quickly, while in AIRPLANE MODE, you have a bad handset.   Just show that fact at an APPLE Store and you'll be given a new phone.

    Just a lil question..

What is normal for the battery?

Lets say you are in safari browsing - 1% gone all 3-5 minutes - is this okay???

For me, when i take it from the computer it stays long on 100%, but then it goes away..

WLAN only, instagram, safari and twitter and it goes waay..

1% every 3 min translates to 5 hours of continuous browsing.  So-so performance.

1% every 5min translates to 8.3 hours of continuous browsing.  Good performance.

1% every three minutes is horrible battery life.

That would be on par with others complaining about their battery life also..... Myself included

I am having better luck with usage, but I am still puzzled by an issue I raised earlier. When I put the phone on the charger, it recharges from almost nothing to 100% in a matter of 10-15 minutes. Yesterday, the phone was at 41% and four minutes later it was at 75%. I had to unplug it to go into a store and when I unplugged it from the car charger, it went up to 79%!

Of course, it wasn't really charged to that level because it immediately began dropping like a rock and within several minutes it was back down to 40%.

I wonder if some of the fast discharge rates being reported can be linked to this phenomenon, one may think the phone is charged to 100%, but unless you leave the phone charging overnight you cannot be sure it's actually been charged fully.

Again I ask, is anyone else experiencing the rapid recharge issue?

1% for every 3 mins max for me. Phone is 3 days old and the battery can't even last an 8hr day at work

I'm not one to usually suggest deep discharging of a LiON battery, but I do recall that when the 4s was released this same issue came up.   Doing a full discharge and recharge was suggested to help calibrate the battery meter.   Something to consider for those who are having this problem???

Last night my phone lost 50% of charge over night. This is not the norm! The only thing different is that I had used skype. I hope it was the skpe app and there is not something else going on.

I also loose about 1% every 2-3 min on LTE/3g.

What is the best way to test if your battery life is normal or not?
