I just tried to download a previously downloaded ringtone. The app store actually asked me to purchase it again! So it looks like you have to repurchase the ringtone if you want it back.

This is correct. Ringtones are not supported by the Cloud. So it's the CX's responsibility to make sure they are backed up.

That is not true. I tried everything then finally I broke down and sent apple an email about this issue. I'm not sure what he did bc I tried doing it before. He told me to do it so I gave it a shot believing that it wouldn't work. Well I went on my computer and did the available downloads again. Sure enough they were all there so now I have them all. He did tell me to check if I had the latest version of iTunes which I did. Good luck hopefully yall can have the same luck I did.

I"m sorry, but you are mistaken.

When you contracted Apple, they regranted you the download; this is not coming from the Clould. They gave you a OTE.

Sorry but no I was not mistaken bc now I have my previously purchased ringtones even if they did regrant them as you say. But now I have all my previously purchased ringtones redownloaded and now saved on my computer and iPhone plus iPad. Hope it works for others that have the same problem like it worked for me.

    Hi ,

    1. Open the App Store on your device.
    2. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
    3. Tap Updates from the bottom navigation bar.
    4. Tap Purchased on the resulting screen
    5. Locate the Ringtone in your Purchased tab.
    6. Tap the download button
    7. Once you've located the Ringtome you are looking for, tap the download button.

that's exactly what happened to me.  I thought I was having to buy the song/ringtone again but I got an Apple notification that I had already purchased that song and would I like to download it.  Great!  but after the download it did not go into my ringtones - it just appeared as a song in Music.

OK, so now what?  How do I get the freaking thing ASSIGNED TO A CONTACT?  This is stupid hard!  I'm about to go back to my android.

    HELP!

Reply from iTunes Store Customer Support

    Leslie here again.

There is no where for you to download them again for free- ringtones are not included in the iCloud feature. Applications can be redownloaded from the store at no additional cost- songs and movies can be redownloaded through iCloud (if they are available) but ringtones do not have that option. As I said, we can try to repost them for you but do not repurchase them unless you want to pay for them a second time. I encourage you to back up your purchases so you have the ability to restore them yourself if something happens to them.

If you want to know more about redownloading applications and other purchases let me know, and I'll be happy to provide you the redownload apps information and the iCloud information but this doesn't help you with ringtones.

I hope that this is helpful in resolving this matter.

    Thank you for choosing i
