If I understand correctly everything appears normal when viewed through iTunes, it shows the device as having content on it, but when you disconnect it the iPod itself says no music. If so I had exactly the same thing yesterday. It was resolved by placing the iPod in DFU mode and restoring again. To get to DFU mode connect the device to your computer via the USB cable, then press and hold down Menu + Select for exactly 12 seconds. After about 6 seconds the device will reset as normal, but after a further 6 seconds the display should go blank. iTunes should detect a device in recovery mode and offer to restore it. Hopefully this time it will be successful.
Hi, Thanks for your guidance, i did what you suggested and there was a promplt to copy the recovery software and i gone through the restoration again, for the 4th or 5th time.
This time round, i decided just to sync the music library (as my major bulk of contents are podcasts while music library only occupies i think 10GB of my ipod content), Yes. songs finally can be seen on my ipod! So, this morning, i proceed to sync my podcast (did it only in morning as it took a long time to sync podcast due to the volume). Sync has been completed now but when I check on the ipod again, All songs and podcasts are not there, just like before, although the Itune shows that the ipod is loaded with content.
So, the problem seems to be that the moment i sync my podcasts, my ipod becomes 'blankoff', i did a check to see hidden files under 'ipod control' folder in the ipod and the files are there but it is simply not showing up in the ipod.
Any help pls?
