Servers EnterpriseHow is your Mac mini connected to the TV? Some connections do not support sound and you need to setup the sound separately.

Servers EnterpriseThe HDMI cable will support sound. Double check in the Sound preferences on your Mac that Sound is set to go via HDMI. Do this with the cable and TV connected.

Oct 20, 2012 7:58 AM in response to John Lockwoodby therodney,tried this but no luck. The soumnd control won't let me choose the TV - it defaults back to the headphone option for my external speakers. Decided that I wasn't satisfied with the size of the computer desktop on the
TV format anyway, so returned the cable.Thanks for the help.
