I have just performed a full restore from Time Machine. Does this mean that I no longer have access to my old backups?

I don't use Time Machine but I don't see why this should inhibit access to old backups.

For all matters dealing with Time Machine, the resident Guru is Pondini.

Are your Time Machine backups on the Mac's main disk? If so this is next to useless. It will not protect you when the disk fails. Backup to an external disk.

Under normal circumstances you should not need to delete Time Machine backups. Pondini's pages will explain how Time Machine automatically deletes old backups.

Can't speak on his behalf but Neville seems to have similar thoughts to me. Google Pondini and you will find several alternate pages of his work.   There are few more knowledgeable about TM.

I think all of Pondini's pages are efficiently linked to each other.

I have been through the Pondini Current troubleshooting list and have not found anything relevant to my issue.

What issue are you concerned about?

Nothing more I can say but, with luck, Pondini will see your post and react.   One suggestion.   Watch out for him posting then 'Bump' this post.   It may draw it to his attention.
