It's nice to see someone finally owned up to the problem.  Now lets see how long it takes to fix

Like I said before you cant fix it. Verizon has to fix their towers. I haven't had a problem for a week now and my time and date change every single day before then. I didn't do anything to my phone. Everything is on automatic. You just have to let them know where you are to fix their towers.

Hey Jay, what did you tell them to help them zero in on the fix? I would like to follow whatever steps you took to get this resolved on Oahu

I woke up at what I thought was 6:30am this morning, but it was actually 2:30am when my alarm actually went off. My Sprint iPhone 5 was switching back and forth between "extended" and the 3G networks and the time kept toggling by 4 hours. I'm not sure it's related to the network signal strength though. This is my second iPhone 5, the first one did not have this issue. I've had this one for 4 days and this is the first time I've seen this.

Not sure if this has been figured out yet?

Hmm, I wonder if anyone has had the issue corrected by exchanging their phone. It stands to reason that if you can inherit the bug this way you should also be able to get rid of it too

I posted that I was having problems back on October 12th and since then, it hasn't happened a single time.  I am in and out of Los Angeles & Ventura Counties constantly, in and out of 3G & LTE service continually and the date hasn't reverted on me since early October.

I am hoping this means that VZW is getting a handle on it.  We know it isn't isolated to the iPhone 5 and we know that it is occurring when switching from 3G to LTE.  Whatever the exact issue is with the switching, I hope that people will see their devices become more stable.

Just checking back in from southern Illinois on time date issue.  Since I toggled LTE off I've had no problems. Only been 2 days tho. My son did confirm today that his new Samsung G3 has the same problem so just more evidence that its a Verizon issue. Come on Verizon, you expect me to pay my bill on time so we should be able to expect you to provide us with the service we are paying dearly for!

    RR--

Quite a few of us are ever more convinced this is not an iP5 hardware issue.  More and more evidence that its the Verizon LTE network and some sort of time issue with their towers.  I passed on Apples offer to exchange phones after reading this thread.

So my wife are just out driving to dinner right now... My phone has been on 3G the whole drive , we just entered Elkhart Indiana.. An LTE spot... I just watched my phone go from the correct time of 6:15 pm.. To 4:31 am as soon as it switched to LTE....

Well I've tried everything else and nothing has worked...

I went with Verizon specifically because of their LTE availability even though I dont have sufficient coverage at home for voice and had to BUY a network extender to make of for this spot in their network which, by the way, is shown as full service on their coverage map

...My LTE is now set to OFF

    ...now we wait :-/

We spent the day running errands in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys (both in Los Angeles County) and every time I looked at my phone I was on 3G.  We were driving home on the 126, entered Ventura County and my phone switched to LTE (you can see the cell towers on the south side of the riverbed) and my phone didn't even hiccup... date and time stayed the same.  I got home and my phone switched to my Wi-Fi (DSL from AT&T) and it still stayed the same.  I sent a test text message (because that is when I usually discovered the problem, in sending a text message) to my wife and it was a-okay!

Is this a glimmer of hope for SoCal?  As I said earlier, I haven't had a problem since early October - I am hoping that isn't just a coincidence.

Just thought I would check the status here in Nocal-Davis.  For about a hour all was well.  Then time shift to the past.  Time to call Verizon again!

So I mentioned yesterday that my phone had gone 24 hours without changing when I set it to not update automatically. Then people mentioned their phones had stopped getting messed up, and I thought maybe Verizon had fixed the towers nearby. So I changed it back to automatic updates last night. Just now I looked at my phone and it thinks it is September 20, 6:04 AM instead of October, 8:24 PM. So to be exact, the time and date is now 30 days, 14 hours, and 8 seconds in the past when compared to my computer's clock which is automatically updated through the internet.

Ok, I have been at home in Mahomet, IL all day today with LTE on while connceted to my home WiFi. The time and date have been fine all day. Just now (current time 8:20pm Oct 20th) for no reason my phone time and date switched to 6:05am Sept. 20th. My phone has been in the kitchen all day with a full cell signal, while at the same time connected to home Wifi. This problem seems to be impossible to trouble shoot!

Builder, my problems today have been identical to yours. I am also in Mahomet and my phone has been fine all day. I just noticed a few minutes ago that the time and date had changed on me. Also to September 20 at 6 something in the morning. This makes it sound to me like it is definitely related to the cell towers.
