I have a mid 2009 MacBook Pro running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4. I keep a folder on my desktop containing of all the works I done in college. I woke up this morning, trying to email a client my previous work. But the folder's gone!! All my school work disappeared! I tried using spotlight but I got no result. I went to pages, recent files, saw one of the file's name then I clicked on it but it won't open. Please help, I don't have it back up.

At the risk of sounding callous, why would you expect us to help you when you did nothing to help yourself?  I presume that it's not in Trash, and that you haven't recently emptied the Trash, in which case the most likely scenario is that you unintentionally moved it in an inadvertent click and drag operation.  However, in that case a Spotlight search should throw it up.  It might be worth forcing Spotlight to re-index the volume:

Did you have a USB drive connected shortly before the folder disappeared?  If so, could it have been inadvertently dragged to it?  Spotlight would not pick it up if it was on an external volume.

Have you looked on the CF card?  Might have been inadvertently dragged there.  Not sure how you would go about proving that you didn't delete anything, but even if you did I doubt they'd pay for data recovery.  Proving you didn't delete it doesn't prove that there's a fault that they're responsible for.
