I have a Promise Vtrak e-series with dual contollers configured in LUN affinity mode. The Xserve Intel has two identical Fiber cards each with two ports. Should I connect all four optical ports using 4GB Copper Fiber cabling. (I know that only two maximum will work at one time). Will the two cables running from Contoller #2 to the second Fiber Channel card give me fail-over proctection if either the first card fails or Controller #1 fails? I run another setup this way using a single four-port fiber card to dual controllers, but I am wondering if th Xserve will treat the two fiber channel cards connected to the same LUN as fail-over, as opposed to a single card.
