I have a MacBook Pro that I bought in early 2011, I have the Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter and it works on my HDTV. One of my friends wanted ot use my Mac and my adapter to connect to his HDTV that is about 6 or 7 years old, it would not work. I have tested the HDMI cable, the adapter, and the Mac since then. The only thing that I can think of is that (for some reason) the TV is not a compatable display with the Mac.

Any help would be great!

Thanks

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), Thunderbolt/HMDI
