    Actually you kinda can...

    Verizon is monitoring my phone's connection status over the next 48 hours to see what towers may be causing my issues

    Oh well if that's the case I'll just call them if it happens again and ask them about that. Btw guess I can add that where I work in Lincoln, IL about 30 miles away from Springfield there is no LTE service and have not experienced in date/time changes at all on an only 3G network. So again LTE seems to be the culprit. Oh well guess I'll do the jump through hoops method too if I must lol

    I have been having the same issues, and it has been so frustrating. I'm glad to know that it isn't just me.  I just wish somebody knew how to resolve the issue.  I spoke to an apple technician, and she told me to turn off the automatic setting.  I tried that, but it didn't resolve the issue. I do live in an area that has a sporadic LTE signal, so it's constantly changing back and forth to 3G. Hopefully, someone will solve this problem. I too use the alarm but am afraid it will not go off if the time gets messed up.

    I have had mine on manual time setting for a couple of weeks with no switching. I drive around the towers that cause the switching all of the time and my time stays the same. So it appears that there might be bigger problems in some areas or there is also an actual hardware problem with some phones.

    I would hope Verizon or Apple would let us know when they are working on this in our areas. We shouldn't have to keep doing things trial and error.

    Getting a new phone will not solve your problems, restoring in iTunes will not solve your problem. Maybe complaining to Verizon will solve the problem. We need to get Apple involved to help hold Verizon accountable. If they want satisfied customers at Apple they will put the fire to Verizon to speed up the fix for this.

    My wife, my daughter, and I each have iPhone 5. We just returned from Notre Dame (BYU game). While in South Bend, all three of us noticed that our dates and times would reset to a date and time in September. Turning the phone off then back on would get the correct date and time on all three phones. Then I looked on the web, and someone said that turning airplane mode on then off gets the correct time and date as well. When my time and date died again, I tried the airplane mode trick, and it worked. We just returned home, and I noticed my clock was still on eastern time instead of central.I turned the phone off to go to church, then when I turned it back on, all was well. I have warned my other daughter to use an alarm clock (yes a fourth iPhone 5 - I have 4 cars, too! College woes ). We use Verizon. My wife is now thinking about a new watch. This is getting really expensive.

    Have had my iPhone 5 for 2 days now, today the time wacked out (sometimes a couple hours ahead, once a few hours early). I did notice this all happened during traveling time between two location; one in 3G and the other in LTE.

    Still having this problem.. in fact almost seems worse. This phone has changed times three times since 10 am. I called VZ again yesterday and the first guy just laughed when i told him the problem, and proceeded to tell me that I am the only one with this problem, and then told me how much having an iphone over droid was a bad idea... finally he put me to tech support. The guy there said he has the iphone 5 and is having the same problem.. but they are waiting for Apple to fix the problem!!?

    I told him that days ago VZ put out a statement that it is their LTE towers that ARE the problem.. he said that i was wrong.. its Apple..  When I asked then why is the GS3 having some of the same issues... he told me that its Apples software messing up the towers!!!???   are you kidding me?

    I then asked what they can do for me.. I am paying for data, a premium phone.. it cant keep time.. this disables my alarms. reminders, schedules and email and messages when this problem occurs..  I asked if i could get some kind of credit since my phones basic features will not work correctly... I was told no.. im still can get on the internet so the data is doing its job.. and that all the features of the phone work as advertised and i should look for apps that will take the place of the basic clock!!!!???    i hung up the phone furious...  he basically told me that they dont know if there will be a fix...

    I have the same problem. It occurs in multiple places, charging/not charging, overnight/during the day. No pattern that I can see.  I find I need to monitor the clock closely otherwise certain applications don't work. I certainly can't depend on the alarm at all.

    I am just posting again as my clock just changed..this is the first time today....it happened at 2:00PM and changed to 3:37AM and the date was also changed to August 24th.  This happened on the north side of Mount Pleasant, Michigan for you Apple techs since you may be logging where these issues are taking place.

    I am having the same issue with the time being off. hopefully we can get a fix soon.

    @Burge1ea

    That is the first time I have seen anyone have their phone go back to August. Most of the time the phones seem to go back to September or go back just a couple days

    @Venghous1

    Verizon's poor customer service regarding this issue is my main point of frustration. I knew there would be bugs but I expected them to be addressed. My plan is just to continue calling in and getting my data charges refunded until they get it fixed. Its not optimal but it helps keep the anger level down to have nearly half my bill refunded.

    If I were you I would call back until you get someone who acknowledges the issue and then pursue a bill credit for "loss of use". Don't let them tell you they cant do it because they have for at least 3 of us so far. The person I spoke to tried to scare me away from this option by telling me that after the issue has been fixed they will compensate for it automatically and since I have already been compensated I wouldn't be eligible for whatever amount that may be... Whatever... Gimme my money

    If this problem persists another 2 months I will be compensated enough to cover the purchase price of the two problem iPhones =)

    iPhone 5s for FREE!!! YEAH!!!

    ***BTW, They will only credit you from the date you first filed a complaint or had your phone replaced by Apple... Whichever came first

    Count me in for the problem, too.  I spoke with Verizon today who "opened a trouble ticket so that our engineers can work with Apple's engineers to resolve the issue."  They are not necessairly acknowledging the problem is on their end and said they believe the issue is unique to the iPhone 5.

    Incidentally, this is my second iPhone 5 as the first one had a defective microphone and had to be replaced (which Verizon did promptly).  That phone exhibited the time/date issue, too, but this new one has been worse, happening several times a day since getting it last Friday.

    If you are experiencing this issue, please report it to Verizon so they can can better understand the scope of this issue.  Lets hope they get it resolved SOON!

    @rockyrikoko: Mine always resets to a date in August for some reason.  I am really paying attention to the time and date it resets itself to as I am wondering if it resets to a different day for me because of where I am located (Michigan).  I plan to call Verizon tonight after I am out of work and demand some sort of credit.  They try to push all of their customers into smartphones saying that you won't need an alarm clock, computer, calendar, exc but how can you depend on something that goes back in time (date) and likes to change its time to 3AM? I haven't seen very many people from other carriers having issues so I have a strong guess that it is something with Verizon's towers.  I am also going to watch my husbands phone too to see if his goes back to August 24th all the time as well.

    Mine now says it's Oct 15th (4 days before I even had the phone in-hand)..... will the iPhone 5 be showing data usage prior to when I had it and Verizon attempting to bill me for data time usage prior to having the phone?

    This is becoming more of an issue by the day.

    I switched my time in settings manually, didn't stop the issue from reoccuring at all.

    @Rockyrikoko:

    Are you saying you are getting billed for usage in months that you shouldn't have been due to the date discepency??
