I had no issues this entire weekend in North Jersey and then traveled north even more to Cental Valley, New York.  No issues in New York either.  I tried calling the phone, making a call with the phone, and connecting and disconnecting from WiFi.  No problems.

I then traveled back down to South Jersey, in Atlantic City, Absecon, Ocean City (exit 40 and south of exit 40).

I tried calling the iPhone and staying on the phone 2 minutes.  Once disconnecting the call, I had the same issues:  I could not access the internet (some sites), Facebook wasn't functioning properly, and Instagram failed to upload photos.  I had to either (1) turn off LTE and try again or (2) turn on airplane mode and then turn it back off.

It appears this issue isn't happening everywhere in the United States or everywhere on the East Coast.  It occurs in random areas.  Here in Ocean City New Jersey, I have 5 full bars of Verizon LTE right now, and I'm unable to upload photos because of this issue.

This issue still needs to be addressed in some areas, even though it appears to have resolved in other areas.

Idk what happened but this morning it seems for right now it's working properly in Philly. So far I tried to duplicate the issue and it hasn't happened so far. But we will see as I go through the day.

it seems to be working now BUT, the uploads were only about 1-2mbps once i did the good old airplane mode trick it jumped to 17mbps up.. so its not entireley dead after the call but still isnt working 100% anyone else try this?

While none of this will make up for poor VZW coverage throughout areas where they should have strong coverage, it appears that Apple iOS 6.0.1 will have some fixes for some of the flaky behavior.

    Per BGR today:

"One of our reliable Apple (AAPL) sources has let us know Apple has begun testing iOS 6.0.1 with different carrier partners in the U.S. and we have a general list of what the first iOS 6 update will entail. iOS 6.0.1 should fix the horizontal lines bug on the screen when the keyboard or app folder is open, and it will also fix a problem with the camera’s flash not going off.

In addition, the new software will improve Wi-Fi support, fix cellular data not working in some cases, add a consolidated cellular data switch for iTunes Match, fix a bug that allowed access to Passbook pass details from the lock screen, and also finally fix the bug that caused Exchange meetings to be unexpectedly cancelled for the entire calendar invite group"

Just wondering if anyone, anywhere is still experiencing issues with LTE upload speeds after a call or after disconnecting from WiFi.

My issue mysteriously appears to have been fixed.  I'm just wondering if everyone else's has been fixed as well.

I had apple send me a new phone because of a keyboard issue but the uploads were magically fixed even before swapping to my new iphone. I have not been able to replicate the issue since last week.

As much as I'd like to blame the iPhone 5, I don't believe that intermittent horrible LTE upload speeds are necessarily the fault of the iPhone 5.  The reason I state this is that I have tested other LTE devices in many locations where my iPhone 5 provided just horrific upload speeds (i.e. 0.10Mb/s and <1Mb/s) and in the majority of cases, the Android LTE devices were also pathethic for upload speeds. I was expecting this problem to be isolated to the iPhone 5, but in every location where I could compare against a VZW Android LTE phone, I also saw bad upload speeds.

What's very strange about this is that there are locations where I get decent upload AND download speeds on VZW, albeit consistently significant slower than AT&T, so I am really not sure why some VZW locations / towers are providing such poor upload speeds.

I was at a location today with a -92dBM RSRP (4 bar LTE) and was receiving 13Mb/s+ download speeds and most upload tests were 0.10 with a few in the 1-2Mb/s range.  To compare this to AT&T, It was doing about 25Mb/s down and 9.3Mb/s up. I forgot to check the RSRP, but AT&T Galaxy S III was showing only 2 bars.

VZW has done a great job with their marketing, they had me convinced that they were far superior to AT&T, but the truth is that the market is misleading.  VZW has LTE in more major metro areas [markets] than AT&T, but where they offer LTE, it is very spotty. From my own experience, AT&T has taken the time to have a good LTE network where they offer it and VZW has focused on # of markets even if it means a poor data experience.  I state this from my own head-to-head performance testing w/ VZW & AT&T throughout Metro Boston, NYC and Bay Area (CA). I really hope that VZW gets their act together as LTE on my VZW iPhone 5 really stinks and I paid $399 + tax for this.

I just bought a new iphone 5 with Verizon on Sun Nov 11, 2012.  I'm in silicon valley with full LTE coverage and the phone picks up the LTE signal yet at random times throughout the day, it drops LTE and then does NOT pick up any other signal.  It will keep searching and searching until I either turn off LTE or reset the phone.

I took the phone in to Apple store in San Jose and they reset it to factory and swapped out with new SIM card.  LTE worked great for approx 5 hours before it dropped and started the same issue of searching for signal.  The tech and Apple was confident that it was a SIM card issue but obviously it's not.  A coworker has an ATT iphone 5 with full coverage even inside our building and he says it rarely drops and even when it does, it has no issues switching to 3G and then back to LTE once its available.

If this were a software problem, all iPhone 5s would have it. I have a guy in my office with the same phone and same carrier (Verizon) as I have and he doesn't have any LTE issues. I do. So seem more of a hardware issue. Some phones work. Others do not.
