The standard pathetic response from you... Blah blah blah you shouldn't have installed it, you should have read the terms and conditions blah blah blah is this your first computer?

apple does not value anything to do with its customers, they have demonstrated this in its treatment of its customers with ios6

You should be in politics =)

I came across this the other day and I am not directing it at anyone on the forum but thought it was quite humorous:

    Albert Einstein:

"I fear the day when the technology overlaps with our humanity.

The world will only have a generation of idiots."

I agree and would just like to add that the worst of all are the idolaters.

When you buy an iPhone 5 you don't have a choice of iOS 5 or 6, so 6 it is,maybe looking back I was in too much of a hurry to get the latest iPhone, once bitten twice shy.

I would not recommend anyone upgrades to iOS 6 if you like the exisisting maps etc, not even sure I would go for the iPhone 5 either, the 4s was perfect.

Buying iPhone 5? I don't intend buying it. My 4s is stored in a closet waiting for a real solution. I will wait for about 6 months. If Maps keep the same mess, I am going to sell the for 4s, and get rid of all iStuff I 've got.

That is a good point that some folks miss, is that everytime you

use Google Maps, Google is tracking everything that you do

so that they can make money targeting people with advertising.

Does Apple work just for charity?

If I could be bothered, I would enquire who "we" are? I would ask if you speak on behalf of others or are you from Apple after all?

By "we" I'm referring to all the people who actually contribute to this forum and make it a useful experience for those seeking technical support.

Those who are referred to as "members",  are those who come to complain and complain and complain and nothing else.  Those who help no one, and perceive their grievances as profoundly egregious to the point where no other perspective is tolerated.

In the future you will read your posts back and cringe at what a sanctimonious half-wit you really are

That's a real laugh - calling others a "sanctimonious half-wit".  Not sure you even know what the work means, but if you look it up you're likely to find your picture next to it.

You are vacuously campaigning on behalf of a billion dollar corporation who could not care less whether your last breath is spent humping your Maps-crippled iPad.

If you could actually read, you wouldn't find any defense of Apple or anything else, including the iOS 6 Maps.

modular747 you are such a hypocrite. You don't fit into your categorization of "we" by any means. i have read lots of things you have commented on and not once did i see a bit of useful information. All you do is attack people you dont agree with. You DO fit into your category of "member"  not because you complain and complain but because you help no one and you dont accept any other perspective. The fact is that the maps suck. Everyone knows that. I do agree that complaining wont change it so maybe suggest using google maps or mapquest. You are a jerk and should stop harrassing people....get a life!

Having just downloaded iOS 6 I am hugely disappointed with apple maps. In the UK many town names are wrong, with some missing; roads are all the same colour; satellite image resolution is not as good as it was previously. Sure, the 3D map in London is good but it only covers an area a few square miles, so is currently more of a gimmick.

    So questions i have...

    1) Are others experiencing the same?

    2) Will it get better and if so how quickly?

    3) Will there be a google maps app released soon?

    1)i am experincing the same

    2)soon i hope...

    3)i have no idea

Just joined today to attack me or are you the gonadless loser creating a new username (rhetorical question)?  My contribution to this forum is documented by my points and level, which were awarded me by OTHER forum members, not the putz's who infest this place.

The fact is you and your other identities have nothing useful to say.  If you don't like Maps, use something else.  There is no other advice to be given.  Ranting about Apple policies will get you absolutely nowhere.

If you weren't so totally illiterate and/or such a complete liar, you would see that I made no defense of iOS 6 maps or Apple at all.  My "perspective" is about zeros like you who use it as a pretext to flame and rant about irrelevant issues.

Apple annouced this morning that iOS 6 is running on 200 million devices. Kind of puts this pathetic thread in perspective doesn't it. Some like to point to thread views and replies as a measure of the severity of a purported issue. Take this thread and calulate the percentage of users upset with the maps app against 200 million iOS 6 installs. Still want to count veiws and replies and claim it's a major issue?

And yet you feel the need to come here and gloat that you are an iLemming.

give us the ability to downgrade to ios5 and then you will see a true statistic. Until then, half that number could be reading forums like these and listening to fanboi's like you chase of users who have a valid issue with something they paid for.

Everybody knows that Windows Vista is a piece of *****, but it had sold more than 180 million licenses at its 18-month mark.

IOS 6 is just a free update.

    So what?

By the way, I bet that just a few people knows this thread.

Please, could we have the option to download the same app we were using before from google maps? Apple really seems not to care about the customers by doing this change. I was an active user of google maps daily and I have tried to use the new iPHone map multiple times but mistakes are huge including wrong locations and directions. I cannot stand this anymore. Apple should be embarrassed to put out such an inferior mapping application.

If Apple really cares about the service they provide, get us Google Maps back!

It's Google, actually.  Licenses have expired and they weren't keeping the iOS Google Maps feature-consistent with their Android client.

For what it's worth, I've been doing a fair amount of traveling this week, and aside from the 15% or so of places Maps couldn't find, I've got to say I love the new turn-by-turn directions and the fact the new Maps app continues to display even when the phone is "asleep" (you don't have to wake and unlock it like you did the Google Maps app.)

Yes, it doesn't have all the information the Google Maps had, but to get you from point A to point B quickly I have absolutely zero reason to fault it.

I know it doesn't help if it can't find your location, or if your location is incorrectly placed, but I can also cite a number of incorrectly placed locations in Google Maps.
