Q: iPhone 5 can't send SMS - gets an error when sending SMS

People - I'm using a Sprint iPhone 5 with my local GSM chip. Everything works fine, except sending SMS.

 

All basic troubleshooting has been done: checked SMS settings, erased Network Settings, checked SMS Service # through *#5005*7672# and it is fine, restored the phone and re-checked everything above again... and nothing. :-(

 

Please help?

    BTW, I have reported a bug in apple web site few minutes ago.

    Guys, has anyone got any news? I red that iOS 6.0.1 is comming soon, but there was not a single word about our problem! Why can't we get an official feedback? APPLE C'MON!!!

    hey guys, i did write into apple this morning and after more than 3 weeks of purchsing an iphone, today out of the blue, i got a mail "Survey regarding your recent Apple iPhone purchase"

     

    is it normai or it it just coincidence that after all these weeks i get a survey email.....

     

    the survey was not specific to my/"our" problem, however not sure what to make of it, any of you got any such survey requests?

    Hi guys!! I have VERY GOOD news... The last thursday I claimed by email to Apple for this problem. Yesterday a person of apple answered my email asking the serial number and some more information about my 2 Sprint iPhone 5. Later, called me and said that restore the two devices from zero and connect them to iTunes and... Congratulations, your device is unlocked!!! (iTunes said that ja)

    Finally, I sent a SMS and work FINEEEEEE!!!

     

     

    My 2 Sprint iPhone 5 were FULL UNLOCKED and send SMS ok!!!

     

     

    Good luck with yours claims!!!

    Hi Max,

     

    That's very good news, but this has to be solved for everyone, not some cases in particular. So it seems this is a problem with phone locking ...

     

    This is so frustrating as Apple Senior Advisor said that they can't unlock the phones and you are already the second person who says that they unlocked your phone ...

     

    Can you please let us know what you wrote to them??

    Just sent an email to support@apple.com with the brief description of the problem, my serial number and a link to this thread. I believe that they found the root of this problem and all they need to do is to unlock all Sprint iPhones in their system so we can just restore and enjoy

    guys, i wrote the email in my first post... support@apple.com (support @ apple . com)

    only i told my problem with my 2 devices and apple answered with a solution

    be patient, apple is working in our problem

     

    obviously, now facetime and imessage work fine too, with the mobile number!!

    Hi Max,

    Can you check what's your current iOS version, if it's 6.0.1 or some things, that's mean they give you a newer OS.

    I've got some conversation with Senior Specialist from apple, and they said, they're still investigating this issue and cannot confirm the date ...
