Q: Error 20, Impossible to update my apps

Hello,

I am always getting this error when trying to update my apps

- First it says "An error occured while you tried to buy" and then "An error occured ... error 20"

Here are the steps I have already tried:

  • Debug, Reset Mac App Store
  • Sign-out Sign-in
  • Restart
  • Update to Mountain Lion
  • Deleting ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore

I think this crazy error is making me insane !!!

Try a different DNS server ..

Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.

    Click +

Enter these addresses exactly as you see them here.

    208.67.222.222

    Click +

    208.67.220.220

    Then click OK.

    Try the App Store.

I tried the DNS provided and I am still getting error 20 when trying to update and error 100 when trying to download past purchases.

    Apple please solve this issue

Here is the alternative solution that worked for me:

    • Create a Second (temporary) admin account
    • Update/Install your apps from the Mac App Store of this second admin account
    • Done ! (The update and new apps are common to all users ! )
    • Come back to your first Admin account. All your apps are Up to date !

Sadly, none of these solutions worked for me.  I was desperate to update a few apps such as Evernote.  Eventually, I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app from the appstore.

For some reason, that worked.  So UPDATE doesn't work for me (error 20) but reinstalling is OK.  Truely, ***, Apple.

    Fix this!

i've been having the same issues for yea
