Dear Sir/Madam

I Have IPOD 5G 80GB which works perfectly with Music, but when it comes to Video Play back i experiance some issues like Standstill Black Screen (Looks Like its Going to Play the Video) and when i hit play and pause it shows the sings that it works such as showing the play or pause sign on the top of right sied of the screen but nothing plays and no sound at all, Plus when i fast forward it shows a stand still picture of the video (as it was paused) with the same behavior with the black screen!!!

Altough these video files plays perfectly on the itunes

I Wish you coud help me with that

Thanks in Advance

Have you tried removing and resyncing these videos to the iPod?

Did they previously play okay on the iPod?

Have you worked through any of the usual 5 R's of troubleshooting yet?

It could be an indication or a damaged or dying hard drive.  I would recommend doing a disk diagnostic on the iPod's HD using the instructions given by turingtest2 in this older thread.  He also covers what the resulting numbers indicate.

If necessary, post the resultings numbers and we can verify what the next steps to take.

Those numbers don't look too bad actually, so that's a good sign.

Are these videos you downloaded from the iTunes Store or imported from outside of iTunes?

Hmmm.  How much shorter in length was this homemade video compared to all the other videos you have tried syncing to and playing on your iPod?

Could you post a screenshot of each of these video's Summary tabs accessible via Get Info (right->click video, choose Get Info and select Summary tab).

What if you use iTunes to create an iPod friendly version? To do this, highlight the version in iTunes and choose Advanced -> Create iPod or iPhone version.

Then sync the newly created version over to your device.

    Sounds good.

Your welcome and sorry I couldn't be of any more help.
