Oct 25, 2012 9:26 AM in response to DukMagby Old Toad,Go to your Home/Library/Preferences folder and move the com.apple.iCal.plist file to the Desktop. Then try launching iCal again. If there's no change you can move the preference file back.
Remember that in Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder. Then it will be eashy to find and move the iCal preference file to the Desktop.

Oct 25, 2012 9:55 AM in response to Old Toadby DukMag,Ok... can't find the com.apple.ical.plist file. I see other com.apple files in my preferences folder but not that one.
Do you have another idea?

Oct 25, 2012 10:29 AM in response to Old Toadby DukMag,Aaargh. I don't see Library/Preferences under my home folder. The Library folder is simply part of the list of folders when i open up Macitosh HD.
Should I move that folder into my Home Folder?
By the way... thanks for your help. How are you adding screen shots to this thread?

Oct 25, 2012 10:33 AM in response to DukMagby Old Toad,Open the Users folder, then your home folder (which will be you admin name) and then the Library folder. The Library folder you see when you open Macintosh HD is NOT the correct library folder.
The screenshot I posted is what you see when you open the Macintosh HD icon and then the Users/Home folder/Library icons.

Oct 25, 2012 11:00 AM in response to DukMagby DukMag,Ok. Found the Library/Preferences and iCal.plist!
I moved the plist to the desktop and tried to open iCal. Same error message. I have moved the plist back to the preferences folder.
Do you have another idea?
