How do you change an icon on Mac 10.6.8?

For the love of God!!!

I am tired of this! I hate this stupid OS! can someone just give simple steps!!

I am NOT trying to change the icon or a folder! it's for a icon of a game Age of Empire

 

FROM THIS

    Click on the icon you want and Copy (Command + C) then click on the Age of Empires II icon and Get Info (Command + I) When the Get Info window comes up click on the picture of the old icon at the top to highlight it. Then Paste (Command + V) the new icon onto the picture.
