Win 8 with 64-bit iTunes installed.

iTunes sees iPod Shuffle, gen 4, shows the right image and knows the name, serial number and space use but doesn't show my playlists.

I mamage this iPod on differemt PC so I have not sync'd it with the Win8 PC.  I've set iTunes to manage manually so I don't wipe the playlists. So I can't listen to tunes throuh the Win8 PC.  Shuffle still plays pn Win XP PC.  All tunes are from my CDs so no "rights" issues.

Ideas???

Thanks!

So when you click the small black arrow next to the iPod under Devices in the left hand pane in iTunes, does it display Music, Podcasts, etc?

It shows those items but the lists are all empty.

When I connect same iPod to Win XP PC it separtely lists my playlists as Classical, Favorites1, and Favorites2, which is the way I set up my music, all transferred from my personal CD collection.

I just found error messages in the Win 8 Event Viewer related to iTunes, so that probably explains why I can't see the playlists for my iPod.

Faulting application name: iTunes.exe, version: 10.7.0.21, time stamp: 0x504d85d9...

Somebody needs to get busy and fix this...!

Not surprising there are still a few bugs, especially as the final released is just being releases sometime today.

Actually the RTM version has been available to developers for ~3 months. Fri is the commercial release date for the OS for upgrade and for new systems running Win 8.

I actually fixed it!  I updated a couple of hardware drivers for this new PC, includling the chipset and touchpad. Now my playlists are seen and I'm playing the Shuffle through this system while I type this post.

    has been available to developers

Exactly, so not all the kinks have been worked out.

Glad to hear you fixed it though.
