No inaccurate information in my post and who's bumping threads?
If people have the same question, I hope they will search the Discussions instead of posting a new thread. And if they do, they deserve to get an alternative view to what mostly amounts to repeating Apple's spec.
You know, I found a thread a while ago where people claimed to have suffered loss of battery life and was intrigued as logic says it shouldn't be possible. And some people were quite bluntly vociferous in saying it is completely impossible for an iPhone to draw more than 1A.
Having conducted my tests (I ordered the USB power meter loing before it occured to me that I might suffer loss of battery life) I thought it would be useful to add my data to the discussion. But that thread was locked, despite containing incorrect data (that it is IMPOSSIBLE for an iPhone to draw more than 1A charge current).
So I just searched for other people with questions, experience and opinions on the issue. And what I found was a whole bunch of threads where people just posted back that Apple says it's OK.
Sometimes Apple gets it wrong and makes a mistake. Maybe the iPhone battery can handle 1.7A charge current, or maybe it can't - or just some of them - it's not impossible. Why do you think there are product recalls, repair programes and class actions once in a while?
