Q: Why does this article still not indicate that Airport Disk Utility no longer exists?

ADU stopped existing after 10.6. I see this article was updated in May; that means two revisions of OSX which don't contain this utility have been announced or released at that time yet it's still wrong. It's near the top of google rankings, making this a crappy thing to do to your users who are looking for information, Apple.

OSX, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

There is no Airport Disk Utility. There is an Airport Utility in which you can configure a USB drive connected to an AEBS. Airport Utility is found where it's always been - the Utilities folder. The phrase in that article is a  typo. However, the instructions should still be applicable.

And, let's hold off on the negative remarks. They aren't necessary, and they are inaccurate.

Yes, you are correct - there is no longer a Airport Disk Utility. It was discontinued. That article was accurate up until 10.7 was introduced.

You cannot call "from the main window of AirPort Disk Utility enable "Show AirPort Disks in the menu bar"" a 'typo' - it is flat-out wrong, as that menu option no longer exists at all. So the instructions can not be applicable.

This could be corrected simply by adding "10.6 and earlier OSX versions" or the like to the products affected list. But leaving this entirely unusable set of unstructions up as it stands is misleading and counter-productive.

I have never seen an Airport Disk Utility installed by OS X for as far back as I can remember. If there was one prior to 10.7 I think I would have spotted it in my Utilities folder.

Now, it could be that such a utility existed from within Airport Utility, but not as a discrete application.

Further investigation has found more discrepencies in that article as well as some others, FWIW.
