Oct 26, 2012 12:07 PM in response to Verniece71by talon02,We had the same problem after we got back from a trip with 1300 photos. Tapping each photo is not what we wanted to do. I found a discussion on how to do it very quickly.
- Launch the Mac application Image Capture, which is found in your Applications folder, or you can spotlight search.
- You will see a listing of all the photos on your iPad. Using the shift key, you can select a range of photos, or press Command-A to select all images.
- Press the delete button to permanently delete the images on your iPad.
It worked like a charm

Create a new album and you will be asked which photos you want to transfer.
Tick a selection and press 'done'
Select the new folder and press 'edit'
Hold down the cross which appears on the folder and a delete window will appear.
Then delete.
