If you get the windows 8 upgrade, you need at least windows vista or 7. I believe microsoft is selling the full version. I installed the upgrade Saturday and, for the most part, the boot camp drivers for windows 7 seem to work. I had to reinstall the drivers to get the mouse to work. I haven't checked the camera on my i-mac yet. Good luck.

I don't really understand how to install Windows 8 from bootcamp it says a person needs Windows 7 to upgrade. What if I don't have Windows 7 or any other version installed already it's like Windows 8 only comes in an upgrade form. Do I need to buy Windows 7 first install that and install Windows 8 after that? Any help would be great.
If you buy the upgrade you will need something to upgrade from. Buy the full version.

You'll need to look online for the "System Builder" version of Windows 8. It's designed for people who build a new PC from scratch and therefore need a brand new version of Windows to install.

I have managed to do a clean install of Windows 8 Pro using the upgrade disc. Simply do a clean install and do not enter the product key during the initial installation, then re-install Windows 8 Pro ontop of itself using the product key, then activate it and you should be fine.
