I am having the exact same problem with NFL games as well, but the problem is also on my iMac (in addition to my MBP). My MBP and iMac are both running 10.8.2. I am not sure when this began, but it happened sometime in the past couple of weeks.

At least I know now that it's not just me! I'm running 10.8.2 as well. I'm not sure when I lost the appointments, but it may have been around the time that I updated to 10.8.2. For reference, all of the appointments that I input for last year are still in my calendar (both in iCloud and MBP).

I have a support call scheduled with Apple for tomorrow morning. Hopefully it is helpful. I'll keep you posted if they share anything useful.

The call was not helpful; basically he said that it probably has something to do with the nature of the appointments I downloaded from the site -- of course it can't be an iCloud issue (or Apple can't admit it is). His suggestion was to create a local version of the calendar on the MBP / iMac, which I told him was not an optimal solution.
I was able to get the schedule syncing by deleting the old appointments, creating a custom schedule on espn.com (http://espn.go.com/espn/thelife/news/story?id=6296889), subscribing to the custom calendar, exporting this calendar to my desktop, removing the calendar subscription, and importing the local calendar into my iCloud calendar. This is certainly not ideal, but it appears to be working...

Oh well. Thanks for following up. Maybe in time someone else will have the same problem, and come up with a solution. But I'll just recreate the appointments manually. Thanks though. (And as an aside, just wondering, if it's the NY Jets games that you follow?)

Unfortunately, I do follow the Jets -- you?

Yeah. So do I. I'm going with that it's a Jets problem...

I am not going to argue with the fact that the Jets have there problems -- but my wife is a Redskins fan, and we had the same issue with their schedule, so Apple doesn't get off easy in my book.

It is bizzare to be sure (and I don't just mean the Jets... ). It's strange that it's just NFL schedules that are missing. I have several other subscribed calendars, and I don't have any problems with them. Ah well...maybe it'll re-appear at some point.
