I've had my iphone 4s set to Auto-Brightness for several weeks in an attempt to imrpove my batter performance and it has been working fine. For some reason ysterday the scren brightness was fluctuating constantly, adjusting up and down, osilating between bright and dim non-stop as I was using the phone. Today the brightness is just completely dim, practically not visible at all. If I switch the Auto-Brightness setting off I can adjust it to a brightness setting normally but I'm afraid it would run the batter down faster having it be brighter than needed at certain times. I've been trying to figure out what sensor the Auto-Brightness uses (front facing camera, rear camera, somethign else??) maybe it needs cleaning or something. I've cleaned both camera lenses but that has not seemed to fix the problem. Is it possible the sensor it uses has burned out or something?

iPhone 4S, iOS 6
