Oct 31, 2012 11:50 AM in response to ChrisJ4203by GTR_Lover,I didn't get no message from itunes do I have to wait or something?

Oct 31, 2012 11:54 AM in response to GTR_Loverby ChrisJ4203,I don't know that it can be done immediately, and they usually tell you to restore in iTunes. I would wait a little while and try it. The only other method is to try another SIM card, however you mention you do not have one.

Oct 31, 2012 12:01 PM in response to GTR_Loverby KiltedTim,Once you get approval from AT&T, it generally takes several days at least, before the unlock is ready to process.
If you just got done talking to them, give it a few days or a week, then try the restore.

Oct 31, 2012 12:14 PM in response to ChrisJ4203by GTR_Lover,Okay so what will happen in a week? Can I talk to at&t people and see if its unlocked? in a week? What does the update mean. It downloaded and updates my iphone to the same ios version after the AT&T rep told me to backup and restore my iphone.

Oct 31, 2012 12:17 PM in response to GTR_Loverby ChrisJ4203,If they told you it was going to be unlocked it will be. Except for using the SIM card from another carrier, the only other verification is a restore in iTunes and receiving the "Congratulations your iPhone is unlocked" message in iTunes. A restore will install the latest version of iOS.

Oct 31, 2012 12:29 PM in response to GTR_Loverby ChrisJ4203,I cannot see the images you posted, however if you do a restore, it always downloads a fresh version of iOS and installs it. That is the way it functions.
Sorry, error at my end. They finally appeared. If you complied with this, it should be unlocked, but as said earlier, it can take a little while. The rest of what I typed still applies.

Oct 31, 2012 12:33 PM in response to GTR_Loverby Lawrence Finch,When you do the Restore with iTunes it will redownload iOS 6. When it finishes it will state clearly that the phone is unlocked. If you don't get this message it is not unlocked.
One thing that can prevent it from being unlocked is a previously jailbroken phone cannot be unlocked but this process. I'm assuming that doesn't apply to you.

Oct 31, 2012 12:51 PM in response to GTR_Loverby Lawrence Finch,★HelpfulIf you connect the phone to iTunes and click the Restore button (NOT Restore from Backup) if the phone is unlocked you should get the message "Conratulations, your iphone is unlocked" when the restore completes. If you do not get the message it is not unlocked. Try again in a few days, because sometimes it takes a while for the order to be processed.

Oct 31, 2012 12:55 PM in response to wjostenby Lawrence Finch,We're OK, but the house did not come though unscathed. I'll post a link in the lounge later. We have power back, however.
Thanks for thinking of us.
