iCloud would not sync

Can someone please help. I simply cannot get iCloud to sync my calendars. I have tried singing out and signing in again but that does not help. Also, I cannot even create an event through iCloud on Safari. I simply get an error message that the server cannot be reached.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

    "cannot be reached" - well that might be the problem.  A number of users are indicating trouble accessing their accounts - could be network routing due to Sandy.
