you should have a look at the post of willie here https://discussions.apple.com/message/19937980#19937980
he is a Sprint client with iPhone 5, asked Sprint to unlocked his phone for international use, they did it, he restored on itune but once outside USA he got the same SMS problem !
This problem concerns all Sprint iPhone users, include all Sprint clients ! ... due to Apple failure in the unlocking process !

Yeah I agree with michael.vietnam, lets use one thread, like the one from here https://discussions.apple.com/message/19813560 so we have one big thread and more attention to that.
What do you say?

My iPhone was having the same problem.
I spoke with someone at Apple, who pointed me to this Apple doc -> Sprint iPhone 5: Unable to send SMS when outside the United States
He said they fixed something on the back end and all I needed to do was restore the iPhone. It's working fine now!

I had the same issue. I am using a international unlocked Sprint phone on Etisalat in Dubai. I saw this post https://discussions.apple.com/message/20602020#20602020 from FernandezJay and tried it. He fixed my sms in the time it took to restore and restart the phone. Also now my FaceTime and Imessage both work through my Apple ID and my Dubai Phone Number.
Seriously guys. IT WORKS!
