    That's relieving.  What is the correct info then?  Curious .

    I tried every tip given in the forum to get my home wifi to reconnect (after the ios 6 update) to no avail, then suddenly on Monday it stopped booting me off. I've been connected since Then with no issues.  I have no explanation as to why it's working again since I basically stopped trying all the tips and tricks last week.  So weird.

    Apple has just released iOS 6.0.1. For you guys with nothing to loose I would try and download ASAP. Listed to address wifi WPA2 issues amongst other things

    @sbailey4,

    Thanks for that. Updated my iPad3 but tested WiFi before, download 2.5Mb. After update download id 6.6Mb !!

    Yes nearly 3 times faster so Apple have corrected the speed bug. Maps still wrong but I can live with that as I use Maps+ which is excellent. Why couldn't they have done this in the first place? Three times faster and NO router change - tells a tale doesn't it.

    Fixes issues with WPA2 WiFi networks?

    I'd imagine a couple of people on this thread will be tucking into a huge slice of humble pie right about now...

    Well done Apple

    Read what Apple said: "Improves the reliability of iPhone 5 and iPod touch (5th generation) when connected to encrypted WPA2 WiFi networks".

    No mention of the iPad at all.

    My Speedtest results before and after the update are the same using WPA2 encryption.

    It will be interesting to see if this update helps others with iPad iOS connectivity problems.

    Humble pie? Well done Apple?

    Because my 4 month old $700 device has been inoperable for a month I think Apple should be eating a little humble pie. They'll get no Well Done from me until they beta test their product rather than flood the market with bug riddled devices.  Color me unimpressed.

    Strange...  Several hours ago you reported that it's working fine.

    It is working now, after having been down for a month. Strange indeed.

    So the update resolved it for you or it just started working all of a sudden?

    AngieInGa, they fired the guy in charge of iOS. He'd been with the firm for 15 years. I think they understand they screwed up.

    Yes, Apple could have acted sooner, admitted the problem and kept users informed but we are where we are and personally I'm happy to see a fix (connectivity issues were driving me crazy).

    Of course, you could always stick with 6.0.0 if you're really upset...

    Well iPad, iPhone and iPod touch are all getting the update. So it should address the same issue across all iDevices.

      Are you always so "doomsdayish" I mean really? And as  I understand it you have not had issues at all correct? So you should be a tad more supportive. geez.

    @sbailey4, I have not updated yet.  My iPad connected to my wifi on Monday and it hasn't disconnected yet (fingers crossed).  I will still update to 6.0.1 though.  I'm sure whatever the wifi fix is my device needs it regardless if it's working temporarily.

    @JimHdk

    I take it is me you are adressing when you say that Apple do not mention improvement to the iPad performance.

    Why must you criticise other posters and pontificate from on high?

    I can only report on the situation as I found it with the performance of my 3rd gen iPad.

    iOS 6 = 2.5Mb,  only 10 minutes later after update  iOS 6.01 = 6.6Mb almost threefold performance increase

    Now that my WiFi is restored I'm happy.

    Why must you continue to protest that Apple iOS6 was not the cause of the vast majority of the WiFi issues?

    Even Apple acknowledge they had problems.

    I will now set this thread to stop sending updates because as far as I'm concerned the problem is solved.
