Iphoto 9.4.1 with Macos 10.8.2 in french

When you send photos via iPhoto (and not by Mail) after receiving e-mail, if you want to open the pictures attached, you will encounter a problem because the software after jpg has added a quotation mark " (eg IMGP1355. jpg" instead of IMGP1355.jpg ). To see the pictures with your favorite software, you must edit the file name and delete the quote mark " final.

What email provider do you have?  Are you using your iCloud account or a 3rd party provider?  Have you sent a photo to yourself and get the " at the end?  Also what theme and file size are you sending?

Just ran a test using my iCloud account with iPhoto and a 3rd party email provider with iPhot and go no " at the end.

Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos, email a photo and check to see if the same problem persists.

As Larry mentioned you're the first to report such an issue.

One other question?  Were you ever able to email with iPhoto without the " at the end of the file name?

    I use a Macbook Pro, OSX Lion 10.7.5,  Iphoto '11 Vers 9.4.2 & Mail Vers 5.3

When I sent pics to friends, they were getting the quotation mark after the jpg (jpg").   They would drag the pics to their desktops & delete the quotation mark from the name of the pics.  That allowed them to work with the picture.

Below is what resolved this particular problem for me.

I went into Iphoto preferences, chose the "General" icon & changed the "Email photos using:" drop down item.   It originally showed Iphoto.  I changed it to "Mail."  See below.  Now my pics are received as JPG.  The JPG" issue is gone.
