I'm at a bit of a loss too as you're not very clear. Photos in Albums are not duplicates. Albums jist reference photos in the Library.

Thanks. So I would use the "hide" function to keep from seeing certain photos in the Albums?

Probably not - hiding them hides them everywhere (remember albums are just pointers to photos in the ibrary and what ever is done to anywhere the photo is relected everywhere)
to delete a photo from an album select the photo in the album and press the depete key
However since your question is so unclear I'm not sure that you ask that question - for a different question there is a different answer - your post rambles and is not at all clear

If you're familiar with how iTunes works then know that albums in iPhoto are just like playlists in iTunes. They both just contain links to the original file and not a duplicate of that file.
