Nov 2, 2012 10:38 AM in response to crankerchickby dwest1023,No, I don't think my Acura ever showed track and title, using bluetooth. I mostly use usb connection because of better sound quality.

Nov 2, 2012 10:57 AM in response to dwest1023by crankerchick,Oh ok. The 2012 TL now shows track information when streaming over bluetooth, except it's broken now since updating to iOS 6. Most of us didn't expect it to be fixed in iOS 6.0.1, but your post gave me hope LOL.

Nov 2, 2012 12:29 PM in response to dwest1023by rustykerr123,This does not fix it with the pioneer. I tried this already, removed the connection on both the head unit and the phone. Just to give it a fresh start.

Nov 2, 2012 2:38 PM in response to rustykerr123by Dr Agonlord,Pretty much as expected then. Apple have moved forward and **** the consequences to those behind. Let's hope the head unit guys sort things out soon.

Nov 2, 2012 5:12 PM in response to nikB123by MORTY02,I talked to the guys at the Pioneer Booth here at SEMA, and they said its Apples fault. With the 30 Pin to Lightning connector, you'll gain back MetaData, Pandora will work, etc., but video won't work. That's only with the iPhone 5. iphone4/4s will work. They also mentioned that a software update will be released for their decks that will fix the Bluetooth streaming. That will allow all data from songs to show up on your deck.
If you're expecting to have video play off of any apple product with a lightning connector, don't hold your breath. They said its impossible for them to convert the digital signal from the Lightning port out to an analog signal, which is only what the Pioneer decks read. They basically said we're screwed until the release an iPhone 5 compatible deck that's completely digital. Make sense?
Again, this is only for Pioneer peeps. Could go for other brands too. Hope this helps? I know I will be dumping my AVH-P8400BH (that I just bought) very soon!

Nov 3, 2012 7:33 AM in response to nikB123by fab_franzel,I just updated to iOS 6.0.1 on my iPhone 4S and tried it with my Kenwood BT92SD and my Logitech Wireless Speaker Adapter - no change.
The Kenwood still displays no title infos neither you can control it from the iphone.
Ans Yes - I've deleted the iphone, rebooted head-unit and Iphone - tried all I could think of.
The Music Playback with the Logitech is still choppy - est. every 2 min a sall silent chop ...
I'm really disappointed by Apple hushing up the bluetooth issue...

Nov 3, 2012 11:56 AM in response to MORTY02by TomBa,@MORTY02
But Apple have a Lightning to VGA adapter and VGA is analog RGB, isn't it?
So it should be possible.
-
Nov 3, 2012 1:22 PM in response to TomBaby MORTY02,Yes, but the Decks can't read them. That's what I was told. I hope they're wrong, cause I really don't want to replace my deck again.

Nov 3, 2012 5:23 PM in response to MORTY02by drewe2000,I don't know because I can't test it - but while it's true that the Lightning port produced digital video and not analog video, Apple has released the Lightning to VGA adapter (which they announced awhile ago, when Lightning first came out). VGA is, by definition (I believe), analog. I suspect that the Lightning to VGA adapter connected to any kind of VGA to "whatever adapter your device needs" should work. It may not.
I wouldn't take Pioneer's simple denial at face value - it's true that their decks won't support digital video out of the Lightning port - but they are purposely not addressing the other details, like the existance of other adapters. That said, it may just not work, period. But Pioneer (and other companies, including Apple) don't give complete or accurate answers if they don't have to. Why would Pioneer admit that they don't follow the specs and it's their fault, if they don't have to? It would improve customer relations, but they are big enough I don't think they care. Like the other stereo headset manufacturers who are "looking into it," "testing," or note that "there is a firmware incompatibility," but purposely avoid saying "our firmware is incompatible because of a flaw we produced." I'll be happy when someone says that officially, but I"m not holding my breath.
