Bruclin-I'm glad that it worked out for you, but that may not be the case for me. I have tried multiple hot spots and different wifi connections. My wife also has an iPhone 4 and she is having no issues updating nightly to iCloud over our home network. I have been trying different wifi hot spots every time I can find one. But hopefully you won't have any issues in the future.

Ok everyone.  Here is a little update.  Apple gathered more info from me this week with my crash log and other logs on the computer from when this started happening.  There may be something with the photo stream or something.  I should be hearing back again tomorrow.  I will let you know.  I am in the same boat.  I hope there is a fix or something since this is really frustrating.

I have one other question for everyone.  I am going to bring this up with Apple.  For everyone having these issues like me, about when did you get your 4S and when did you upgrade to iOS 6?  I am curious that maybe there might be a bad batch or the upgrade didn't take right.  Got mine in March 2012, upgraded iOS on 9/21, issue started 10/2.  Also, I did check on the backup with a different network.  It works on AT&T network, but not my Time Warner.  Like you all, my wife's 4S is backing up without issues here.  Mine still won't.

I have had mine for a year and downloaded iOS6 in Sept shortly after release. My issues started on 10/03 on my wife's phone  I'm not having issues with my iPhone or iPad both w iOS6.

Nickster3074: I got my 4s at launch. I preordered it the when they first accepted pre orders and I got in via fedX the same day they were first available in stores. I'm on the sprint network. I upgrades to iOS6 the very first day that it was made available. Before the update to iOS6 I backed up my phone to iCloud and then did the over the air update via wifi. Didn't really realize that iCloud wasn't working till I wanted to do a manual backup and realized my last backup was the 3rd or 4th of October. I have still been trying to backup on other wifi and still no success. Now my backup says "incomplete". So I still continue to just back up nightly to CPU. Wife iPhone still going strong and no issues with my 3rd generation iPad (can't say the NEW iPad anymore   ). Hopefully they work this thing out soon. I'm really getting annoyed.

No luck here either.  Grrrr!  I emailed Apple again this afternoon.  I was told the engineers are still looking at it.  Also noticed Photostream still not working for my photos.

Hey everyone.  Another item to check. Talking with my brother who is a big tech guy and tried something.  Check what kind of wireless router you are using and frequency of the router.  The one at home I have is a G router with 2.4 Ghz band.  That frequency is not letting me upload some items for some reason.  If available, try to do the backup and check the Photostream from a network with a wireless N router that has a 5 Ghz frequency.  If it works, it may be something with the internal antennas on our phones not letting the 2.4 Ghz frequency work.  Let me know what happens when you try this.  It seemed to work on a N router fine for me.  I am going to ask Apple about that issue also.

I also am having the same problem on my phone and now with my sister's as well.  Figured it out when her headphone broke off in her jack and she now needs a new phone and turned on backup and it won't work.  We both have an iphone 4s hers is Verizon and mine is AT&T. I have had trouble since upgrading to iOs6 in that I cannot send and picture messages via imessage while in my house and neither can my sister or roommate (iphone 4s, Verizon).  We all got our phones at various times since it was released.  I bought mine last November and my sis bought hers in March I think.  We have comcast at home.  I also haven't been able to have any of my photos automatically transferring to my photo stream and have to download them straight to my computer since the upgrade as well.  When I talked to someone with comcast cares via twitter they seemed to have no idea what I was talking about with trouble with the imessage pix problems and when I spoke to someone at the apple store their answer was also that they didnt know anything about it but they bet there would be a fix somewhere if it was known.  I updated the day it came out and I also updated with 6.0.1 as soon as I saw it was available as well. I'm very curious what the resolutions to these issues will be.  Also, how do you know what kind of routher you have and the frequency?  Thanks so much for your earlier posts!!  Oh and my last backup date was October 4 at 9:57 am.

Bmore girl.  The way I figured it out was by googling my router type and model.  I found the info in the specs on the website.  It was easy, just looked at the description on amazon for the router and it showed it in there under the specs.  I hope this helps some.  I am very anxious to see what Apple tells me.

Ok, very frustrated w Apple now. Still can't backup my wife's phone. Now, my iPhone was reporting it was backing up and today I received a message that it has not backed up since Oct 4.  When will we have a resolution?  I received a notice that iOS6.01 is ready for my iPad. I will not download until these issues are resolved.   Anyone have any info or updates? Does anyone have contact w Apple? Would think Apple would want to fix THEIR issue ASAP!  Is it time to publish on a wider scale?

Don't bother downloading iOS6.1 as it has not improved it, I think now it is time Apple had some kind of explanation for this stuff up it has really put me off iPhone.
