Today, as I did have much time to spend on the computer itself, but needing to create backup, I exported a Project as a New Library from Aperture on my rMBP to one of the drives on my Mac Pro, across my home local area network.  This Project produced a Library that was a bit over 18 GB.  Not a speedy thing to do, and connected an external drive first to the MBP, and then later to the Mac Pro might have been faster, but I could not have been off doing other things.

Wondering if any thumbdrives can be formatted as Mac OS Journaled?  My MBP has USB3, and that is a card I could put in my MP, I think.

Erinie -- I think most can be formatted (just a Google link).  Recall that sometimes they are used as boot drives for OS X.

I use old USB 2 drives as big thumbdrives.  As my Libraries have grown in size, I have some smaller and slower drives available.
