Is there any way to specify the exact sizes of the images placed on a Light Table?

I have a multi-frame I want to print pics for, and a Light Table is a perfect way to print multiple images per page… but I can't seem to figure out how to make, say, one image 3x3 and another one 6x4.

Make sense?

Any ideas?

The Light Table shows a grid and alignment guides. By selecting an image and dragging the resize corners, you should be able to adjust it to any proportions you want.

    For example:

Yeah, but I don't get any specific sizing info. Or at least none that I can tell.

Also, it doesn't seem to let me make the images any smaller, past a cerain point.

It's at best a rough tool, not really suited to what you want to do.  I've used it settle on wall-layouts of several-to-many pictures, but even then the dimensionless Light Table presents difficulties.

Do you have Pages?  I think you can set a page size and individually size pictures using it.  You need an actual -- though rudimentary -- desktop publishing package.  Aperture just doesn't have a tool for that.

I guess I'd use InDesign for that.

I was just thinking that LT could help me print small multies on a single page, from "the source."

    Oh well…

I had the same thought, but the Light Table doesn't do that.  Printing one Image per sheet, or a sequence of Images the same size -- no problem.  Other than that ... InDesign.

Aperture is a great app that sits between "digital camera" and "files and prints I can use".  Beyond that, you are likely to need other software.  Your need -- layout and print multiple pictures on one page -- falls into "beyond that" territory.

The only print option in aperture that allows to exactly control the size and position of images is the Book. In the layout options for the pages you can set the dimensions of the photo boxes and align them accurately. I sometimes use the photo book design to arrange photos for printing, i.e. if if I want to have captions as well. I start with a page design, that has only one photo box and addas many  additional boxes as I need. The only drawback is, that you have to pick the correct when printing - you will not want to print the covers of the book as well.

This might work! Very good idea… didn't even think about this!
