I am new to Aperature (and Mac) ... I have been working for a few weeks on a slideshow in aperature, nearing completion.  181 photos, 3 different audio tracks, secondary audio tracks ... fairly elaborate.  I have been adding photos all along to the slideshow, by simply dragging them from a project folder to the slideshow folder (left side).

Now all of a sudden, I am no longer successful with drag/drop .. and I cannot find any alternative (or help).  Is is possible that I somehow have "locked" my slideshow ??  It was an accident if that happened.

My question is how do I add more slides ??  I have been doing so, and suddenly now I cannot .... Other than the drag/drop I cannot find any further detail on how you do this.

Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered

A couple of easy things to check:

    - Images must have a Preview in order to be in a Slideshow.  Select an Image that you can't get into your Slideshow (it's a kind of Album, btw), and

Hold down the Option key while Control-clicking the image selection, then choose Generate Previews from the shortcut menu.

    - also make sure you aren't trying to add an Image to the Slideshow that is already in the Slideshow.

    Post back.

Note that you can duplicate your Slideshow.  You might want to do that now, before getting into an deeper trouble-shooting.

Just some thoughts to add to Kirby's advice:

Are your modified images part of a version stack? Then only the stack pick will show in your slideshow. If you have stacked your images, you may want to open all stacks to see, if some images are hiding inside.

And how are you dragging to your slideshow? With the album or project you are dragging from open in the Browser to the icon of the slideshow in the Library Inspector? Or do you have two Browsers openlike this?

I just noticed, that I cannot drag from a project to a slideshow, with two Browsers open - the image simply refuses to drop:

    Kirby,

I just noticed I cannot drag any images between two open project Browsers at all - I am no sure, if this worked previously. Can you drag and drop between two browsers?

No, you can't.  Pretty sure this has always (since I made it over the moat, c. Aperture 3.0) been the case.  (I'm sure it's the case with Projects and regular Albums.)  The target of the drag-and-drop _must_ be a user-named container name in the Library tab of the Inspector.

Wish it were possible to drag from Browser to Browser   .
