@augustya I took some screen shots on the new iPad but they were deleted when I restored it. I returned it the same day, I'm not into playing the Apple lottery right now. It's disappointing, quality control should be higher on the list of priorities.

Btw, iPad 3 was Samsung display.. iPad 4 Is LG so there is some possibility of issues but then this time round I've not seen any such issues personally... Exchanged my iPad 3 twice cos of screen issues though..

Yes!!!!!! I got my first iPad 3 4 generation just the other day got it out of the box, switched it on and thought "CRAP" the display is as yellow as a toy rubber duckie!!!
Right on the phone to apple who tried to tell me that it will go away..... PFFFTTT!!!
Because it was with in the 14 day return policy I told them I want a new one sent out right away, to Apples credit they did, but guess what......? The one they sent out has even worse display!!!!
It is nice and "cool" down the left side and green the other!!!!!!!!
FIX YOUR ISSUES APPLE YOUR GOING TO LOSE A LOT OF PEOPLE IF YOU DON'T!

QC is a joke to Apple these days. I warn people, but they don't believe it until they buy into the hype and see it for themselves. Their contractors for making the panels are absolutely terrible and is why I have not upgraded much stuff from Apple over the last couple years. You can call them and they will try and accomodate you over the phone, but the hassle and repeated calling becomes tiresome very quickly. If you can live with an older model such as the 3, keep it. It's just not worth the hassle these days. They are quickly losing momentum anyways, so I'm hopeful that this will slow their growth and quality will improve as a result.
Quality is always better than quantity. But Apple sees it differently like many companies today.

Wow... Well, I just got my new iPad 4th gen and noticed a yellow tint on the bottom left of the screen (holding it portrait). I've heard of this problem before, and glad to see that it just seems to take a couple days of use for it to go away.
Will keep my eyes on mine and hopefully the same will happen for me, because it's quite annoying as it is.

@six_day_trial I'm sure it dose not get better, Apple is just telling people that to surpass the free return period, then they will say they have to get their Engineers to look at your iPad then they will say its with in speck! Take it back!!! They need to up their QC!!!

People ! I myself have been a victim of Apple's poor Quality Control but having said that all of us need to understand this, Apple makes this iPad units in millions and Trillions on daily basis it is virtually impossible to man all the units for Quality one by one, It will take them 2-3 years to come out with a iPad Family if they start doing that. It is not a hand picked thing that each aspect and component of the iPad is hand crafted to perfection like you get in your Ferrari or Lamborgini cars. Nope it is not going to happen Business wise it is impossible. However what Apple needs to do is have a friendly customer satisfaction policy if a customer is not happy for a certain reason with the iPad unit, help him by exchanging it or giving his full money back. I know it is there in most of the countries but imagine for poeple like me where Apple does not sell directly and we have to go through a Apple appointed Reseller we never get out money back and exchange is also impossible no matter what happens.. Period !! So If People in the U.S and Europe are complaining about their issues...imagine how people in the other parts of the world would be coping up with this.
It is all Business Driven where there can be off days aswell everyone needs to understand this.

How exactly can you test to see if you have the yellowish hue problem? Turn on full brightness on a blank (white) web page?

If you dont see it normally, dont bother to find out a flaw or a defect when it is not visible in your normal use.
You are going searching for issues !! Fatal !! dont do it !

Having experienced the speed increase between my 1st gen & the 4th gen iPad I went on another mission to try and find one without the yellow hue. I went back to Best Buy and had them open the box to test it before I bought another one. They weren't happy about doing it since it would have to be discounted 10% if opened but I insisted. I opened a blank Safari page and there it was again, the yellow hue, more pronounced under natural light. The Geek said he didn't see a yellow hue (2 other employees saw it) and that I couldn't test multiple iPads so I drove to the Apple store. I explained my prior experiences with the yellow hue, (which she'd never heard of) got the ok to open the box, turned on the iPad and voila - no yellow hue! So there are 4th gen 64GB Wi-Fi iPads out there without a yellow hue if you're up to working to find one. I checked the SN on this one, a Sept DM unit produced 3 weeks earlier in the same factory as the 1st one I bought.
I submitted 2 reports about the issue and suggested they improve quality control. http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

I purchased an iPad 4 this week and it had a noticable yellow tint which was slightly worse on the right side. I returned it and got another which looked okay in the store under the bright lights, but when I got it home it had a minimal yellow tint to the border of both sides of the screen and compared to my 15 in rMBP it looked dingey although uniform in color. The difference between the screen on the iPad 4 and my iPad 3 however was night and day. I was lucky to get a third generation iPad with a beautiful bright white screen which makes my rMBP look dull. I didn't notice a significant difference in the speed of downloading websites and apps and today I decided to keep my iPad 3 and forget the upgrade for now. I returned the second iPad 4. On both returns the Apple geniuses couldn't have been nicer about it. One thing I did notice was that the new power charger is much faster. In all honesty, if I didn't have what I consider a perfect iPad 3, I probably would have kept the second one and been happy with it as even with the darker screen it had a sharp display with great color saturation.

Guys, a little advice here: Apple uses different display manufacturers for the iPad. The displays are manufactured to Apple specs, which also include an acceptable color temperature range.
Some displays have a warm color temperature (= yellowish hue), others have a cold color temperature (= sharp white). In some cases, the glue used on the display didn't dry perfectly and there can be a yellow hue, which disappears as soon as the glue dries.
To make it short: It is very likely that your "defective" iPads were just fine. Surprise, surprise.
