What dialog box and what page does it point to? Are you referring to the page that comes up when you go to your website in a browser? Is the start page the first page in the left hand pane of iWeb? If not move it there and republish.
Give us more specific details so we don't have to speculate when we offer a suggestion.

When I complete a web update, I get a pop up message in "your site has been published" in the iWeb application.
It provides the link to the home page, however in my setup, it's incorrect and I get a bad link.
I'll get a screen capture and share when I can get to it later today...

iWeb does not make mistakes. Users do.
This is your url :
Notice there's no sitename in it.
iWeb uses the sitename. Something like this :
So when it announces the site it use the URL it thinks is correct.
So find out why and what you did to leave the sitenname out of your URL.

That drop down or pop up window has been knon to be notoriously bad. Try using the File ➙ Visit Published Site menu option instead.

I came to this conclusion and figured I'd simply change the URL. When I do so, it prompts me that I'll be over righting or republishing the whole site.
Guess I'll save and go for it!
