When I compose a new message in mail, if I click the "From" dropdown menu, my iCloud email address is now listed as "@me.com" and "@icloud.com" addresses. I only want to send messages from the "@me.com" address and don't want the "iCloud.com" address to even show up in the menu since it just clutters it. Is there a way to get rid of the "icloud.com" email address from the "From" dropdown menu? Using Mountain Lion.

I dont' think there is a way to get rid of it. The drop down will show the main iCloud address and all aliases to that account. Apple has added the iCloud address to the accounts and either the .me or iCloud will work. Possibly Apple will get rid of the .me extension in the future, but that is only speculation on my part.

If you go to the iCloud website and look at the mail account preferences, you will see that the iCloud address was added to each email address, but there is no way to disable one or the other.
