Nov 6, 2012 2:56 PM in response to redsox0229by randers4,★HelpfulIf you haven't already done so, try turning off iCloud backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage and delete your backup by swiping over it and tapping Delete, then turning iCloud backup back on again. If that doesn't fix things, read through the troublshooting steps listed in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3992.

Oct 18, 2015 8:18 AM in response to redsox0229by Zuizo,I had this same problem with my iPhone5 runnin 9.0.02 and resolved it with the help from a very patient Apple support rep. It turns out the problem is the result of a corrupted backup that will not permit a new backup to be made.
If you can delete that backup you can then make a new backup as normal. My problem was that I could not delete the backup. The solution is to do a full restore from iTunes.
The steps are as follows: Connect the phone to your computer and click on the phone icon in iTunes. Make sure you are running the most recent version of iTunes.>click Summary under Settings on left side of screen>Under Backups click This Computer and Back Up Now>Follow prompts through full backup and restore>On your restored iPhone go to Settings>iCloud>Storage>Manage Storage>iPhone>Delete Backup.
Your corrupted backup should delete and you should be able to create a new backup to the cloud.
