I have inadvertently given the same location two different location names. It affects a lot of photos in many different projects. Is there a simple way to identify the incorrectly named places and then batch change them to be the same as the rest?

To identify the images with wrong "Places" names, you could use a filter - either in a smart album or from the search field in the browser:

    • For example create a smart album:
      New > Smart album
    • In the "Smart Settings" HUD add a "Place" rule and select "Place includes"
    • Then select the images found and change the place by dragging them to the correct pin or using "Metadata > Assing location"

Partly. Yes, you can create a smart album or a search based on the "Imae Location" field. In the smart settings HUD use:

    Add Rule   > IPTC

Then set the pop-up menu for the IPTC rule to "Image Location".

And then you can find all images with the similar location. But I have no clue what information or tags you have entered to be able to separate the two sets that you want to label separately. Perhaps you can add a second rule using the capture time, since you cannot have been in the two locations at the same time.
