It is possible that if your graphics card is clogged with dust, blowing out the dust and allowing it to stay cool will resolve the problem, but I would not get my hopes up.
The Apple 5770 works in all Mac Pro models, about US$250. Do not buy a non-Apple version, as it will not show a picture under Mac OS X.

I have the cleaned graphics card etc. It may be that I need to invest and upgrade the memory, I was hoping for a solution without too much expense but this is probably unlikely.
Any other suggestions?
