It could still be charging, but just not showing any signs of charging.  Leave it connected to an external power source anyways.

Sorry.  That was not apparent from your original post.

So you tried the reset mention above?  Is the Shuffle plugged into a USB port on your PC/Mac or via a wall adapter? Maybe let it sit for a day or two and then try the reset again.

Otherwise, it could be a hardware issue, meaning you'll need to take or send the device in for service/repair/replacement.
