Could you first tell us what you tried and what trouble you are having?

So when you put in your email address and password and go through the setup does it work when you are done?

Under add Account try OTHER and not Yahoo. Enter your info and see if it works then.

when setting up sbcglobal.net or yahoo email acct set up email like this...guaranteed to work

select settings, then mail, contacts and calenders

    add mail acct

    select other

    select add mail acct

enter name, full email address, email password

    select next

make sure imap is highlighted in blue

    incoming host name: imap.mail.yahoo.com

    username: full email address

    password: your email password

    outgoing host name: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

username: full email address-even though it states optional

password: your email password-even though it states optional

    select next

    select save

it will never fail as I set up emails everyday all day long. Also since ios 6 yahoo server set up appears to not work correctly.

This worked for the sbcglobal.net accounts on iphone 5. My att.net accounts and other email acoounts were setup from backup and worked. The sbcglobal accounts did not work.  I deleted them and added them back using your steps.  I think you are correct about the IOS 6  yahoo server set up not working correctly.  These accounts were fine on my previous  Iphone.  Thanks for the post.

With all due respect, your solution is not working.

And ATT's page listing the server settings for email accounts on mobile devices says these are POP3, not IMAP, accounts (as if I know the difference between the two)

    Help?

    respectfully,

    Patrick

Set your email using other to set up email account. Follow these steps.

    Settings

    Mail Contacts and Calenders

    Add mail account

    Other

    Add mail account

    Name: Your name

    Email: Your email

    Password: Your email password

    Description: Your email provider populates

When the next screen populates please enter and make sure POP3 is highlighted blue.

    POP3

    Incoming host name: mail.comcast.net

    Username: Your full email address

    Password: Your email password

    Outgoing host name: smtp.comcast.net

Username: Your email address-even if optional

    Password: Your email password

And then next to verify account. If prompted further verification required, please go to Safari and go to your email page and sign into your email account.

If you need additional help, please let me know. I will not get off work until after 6 pm EST.

    Thank you.
