Recently (almost 2 weeks) the below message pop up when I try to access the iPhoto:

"Your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable

Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command keys pressed. You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup."

Please kindly help.

Thank you in advance for your kind assistance.

WIth regards

What is your iPhoto version? I assume you have a recent version, iPhoto '09 or later?

Probably your iPhoto library got  corrupted and needs repairing.

Make a  back up copy of your iPhoto library and try rebuild the library:

    • Hold down the command and option/alt keys and double click the iPhoto icon to lauch iPhoto.
    • You will see the "First Aid" panel with repair and rebuild options. Choose "Rebuild Database".
