I backed up my macbook using Time Machine.  I am able to confirm that my documents and music are there.  I want to do the same for my pictures.  When I click on the iPhoto through Applications/iPhoto or home/pictures/iPhoto Library  all that comes up is an information (e.g, version of iPhoto, KB, etc.).  I can't actually see any pictures.

How do I look at pictures to verify that they are there and restore them?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
